Interleukin-4 receptor subunit alpha (IL-4RA)

Links to databases

This is a transmembrane receptor for both interleukin 4 and interleukin 13, which regulate IgE production and, chemokine and mucus production at sites of allergic inflammation. The binding of IL-4 or IL-13 to the IL-4 receptor on the surface of macrophages results in an alternative activation, which downregulate inflammatory mediators such as IFN? during immune responses.
