Decorin (DCN)

Links to databases

Decorin is a proteoglycan belonging to the small leucine-rich proteoglycan (SLRP) family. It is a component of connective tissu and binds to type I collagen fibrils. The main function of decorin appears to be to influence the rate of fibrillogenesis. It has also been shown to regulate TGF-beta activity and may function as an angiogensis inhibitor.
