TGM2 (also known as Tissue transglutaminase) is a calcium-dependent protein-glutamine ?-glutamyltransferase that catalyzes the cross-linking of proteins and the conjugation of polyamines to proteins. TGM2 is found in both intracellular and extracellular locations, where it may play roles in apoptosis and cell adhesion, respectively. This protein is notable for being the autoantigen involved in coeliac disease (gluten intolerance).
