Hydroxyacid oxidase 1 (HAOX1)

Links to databases

HAO1 is a peroxisomal enzyme that is expressed primarily in liver and pancreas. It is one of three related proteins that exhibit 2-hydroxyacid oxidase activity. HAO1 is most active on the two-carbon substrate, glycolate, but also to a lesser degree with 2-hydroxy fatty acids.
